Hard Candy Breakup
On my birthday I painted my nails with OPI Bubble Bath and layered Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday on top and it ended up looking somewhat how I expected Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop, from this upcoming Holiday collection, to look. I then got the idea to layer Hard Candy Breakup over Essie Marshmallow in attempts to recreate what I imagine the new upcoming Deborah Lippmann polish Stairway To Heaven to look like.
Swatches to DL have not yet, to my knowledge, hit the internet yet so I’m not sure how close my mani is to the real deal but nonetheless, I quite like it. And as a bonus, if this does end up looking similar enough to Stairway To Heaven, it will end up saving me $18 and killing a lemming!!

going to vegas to cosmoprof. i wanted something simple and elegant, hah not gonna do some crazy nail art! i’m leaning towards using nfu-oh 34 (sheerish pink) over the whole nail, than sponging white on the tips and then putting the Break up over the white, hah i’ve tried like a million color combos, i was gonna do just the white, but with longer nails the white really stands out too much. heh
Whenever I go to a big event (especially nail related) I go insane trying to figure out what to wear lol!
This looks so good but I think I still want Stairway To Heaven JUST for the name :/ I have yet to own Lippmann polish obviously bc its so expensive…do you know if there’s ever ANY type of sales?
Basically…. no. There was just a Nordies cosmetics sale (it might even still be going on) and they didn’t mention all of the lines and/or products that were part of this sale so a lot of people were assuming they would get lucky and get DL polishes on sale (don’t quote me, but I think it was buy one get one 50% off).. well long story short a lot of people tried to buy two assuming the 2nd one would be 1/2 off and Nordies wasn’t allowing it. And not to mention, Deborah Lippmann herself is pretty much a b*tch and not very well liked in the nail polish world (because of her personality not because of her polish) so knowing what I know of her, she’d probably never allow her polishes to go on sale.. she’s way too “high end” for that, if you catch my drift.
man that is SO lame! That almost makes me not want ever buy her polishes, but some of them are soo unique, like the glitter ones and there’s nothing comparable.
Yeah I know… some of her polishes are just so amazing but the fact that she’s such a biiish it’s like ‘really?!!?’. I remember back in ’09 when she came out with that horrid Funky Chunky, she had the nerve to tell everyone the that the polish itself wasn’t ugly but that we were all dumb and don’t know how to apply it correctly. ummm… whattheefffff.
