So unless you’re new to my blog or don’t visit very often, you’ve probably caught on that I’m a huge self proclaimed Swiftie. And today, October 22 of 2012, is a day I have been looking forward to for months and months… and it’s the most exciting Monday I’ve had in a very long time. Today Taylor released her 4th alum entitled Red and in honor, I shall spam you with red.
Del Sol Trick or Treat is my second (right after ChG Fortune Teller) all time favorite Halloween polish. Indoors, it’s a light, slightly-peachy orange jelly base filled with holo microglitter. And outdoors…When the UVA/UVB lights hit the polish, it turns into a blackened purple jelly base which looks absolutely stunning with the holo microglitter glowing through. Seriously guys, view these pictures full size… you won’t be sorry.
Del Sol polishes change color when UVA and UVB rays hit them. The one I’m sharing with you today is Ruby Slipper.
Indoors, or in this case in my car that’s windows have a UVA/UVB shield, Ruby Slipper is a clear base with Gunmetal Silver Glitter that shines a bright, light silver.
In the sun, the clear base turns into a bright red jelly base, making the silver glitter appear red and silver and super sparkly. It’s really very pretty and I love polishes that change colors. This is one of my favorite Del Sols.
So it’s still frighteningly cold here in So Cal but the sun is out so I decided to wear a color changing polish. This is Del Sol Rock Star. Indoors its a bright blue jelly loaded with medium-small square blue glitter but when it hits the sunlight the UVA and UVB rays turn this polish to a deep forest green jelly. So cool! I love color changing polishes and this is one of my favorites! Del Sol polishes are sold in Del Sol boutiques and at Wallgeens.
Good morning! Since So Cal is still experiencing warm weather due to the Santa Ana, I decided now would be the perfect time for a color changing polish. Del Sol polishes, as you may or may not be aware, change colors in the sun. They react to UVA and possibly UVB rays and change colors so they look different indoors and outdoors. This is Del Sol Heart Breaker indoors on the top row and then outdoors on the bottom row.
Indoors Heartbreaker is a warm maroon red jelly packed with tons of medium square silver glitter. When outdoors, Heartbreaker turns into a deep burgundy-maroon-plum colored jelly packed with the same silver glitter. I really like the color of Heartbreaker both indoors and outdoors a lot. It’s fun yet sophisticated and just too darn fun. I love color changing polishes!
Has anyone else tried Del Sol? What’s you favorite from their line?
So you may or may not be familiar with MUA, the Nail Board, or the Nail Board Top 20 but each Fall we do a Top 20 polish list in which everyone on the board submits their favorite 20 polishes to a NB member and they tally up the votes. Today was the day that the votes and the 2010 NB Top 20 were shared on the board. It becomes a bit of a spam fest on acid where everyone shares what polishes made their top 20 list and so I figured it was reason as good as any to share with you all what made my top 20 list this year. Some of these I have posted on here before (mostly because I was trying to have swatches done to share on the board when I revealed my top 20 list) so hopefully that’s not a big deal. Behold, my Top 20:
