OPI Silver Shatter

For realz this time. Last time (and my first time trying it out) I posted on OPI Silver Shatter I had it layered over a lime green holo which for some odd reason, made S.S. appear green.. not silver. Whack. This time around (I will assume because it’s layered over a polish that is a creme and not as intense of a color) Silver Shatter came out the way I expected. Here, I have it layered over last Spring’s highly sought after L’Oreal Waters Edge (which is a dupe for the even more sought after Essie Greenport). I quite like the combo of these two together. I think this proves that Silver Shat works best over cremes. Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Oh, and on a side note: as I was washing my hands yesterday I noticed that Waters Edge is almost the exact same color as Zest bar soap. just thought you’d like to know ;0)
Have a fabulous weekend!

L’Oréal Paris Star Magnet Magnétic Grey

I ordered this L’Oréal Star Magnet polish off e-bay… I’ve wanted a magnet polish ever since I laid my eyes on the Lancome magnet polish. Since this polish was released exclusively in the UK and I haven’t seen any other magnet polishes in the US I figured it was worth ordering off e-bay. For some reason, I suck at making the stars. You can clearly see in the second picture the magnet design that it supposed to be formed on the nail but for whatever reason, my stars look more like lines and blobs more than stars. I think I will have to practice in order to make it look better. Cool idea but my terrible skills made for bad presentation. Basically you paint one thick coat of polish (one nail at a time) and hold your finger directly under the magnet. In order for the magnet to pull the magnetic particles in the polish into the star design on the magnet you need to place you finger very close, but not touching and hold it there for at least 20 seconds or longer. I think my hands are unsteady and I was shaking a bit, hence the sloppy stars. The color of the polish is very pretty. It’s a dark gunmetal gray silver shimmer. Indoors the shimmer appears to be gunmetal gray silver but outdoors the polish shimmer a deep red-purple, almost exactly the color of Zoya Valarie. Overall, I love the idea of this polish but not so much how this mani turned out. I think the reason for the messy stars was more on my end rather than the polishes end… I’ll just have to try again and hope for better results.
Anyone know of any other magnetic polishes, preferably in the US?
