I did this mani literally like, two months ago and now I’m finally just getting around to sharing it. I’ve been so busy and caught up with life (plus a big move!) that I really haven’t had time to post at all. I’ve been swatching… just not posting unfortunately. So I have a pile up of pictures that need to be posted and so I’m going to try really hard to get everything up in the next few weeks cause come the end of April (right before/during/a while after my move) I’ll probably be so swamped that I won’t be posting for a few weeks. Soooo… here’s the first of the pile up of pictures taken and not yet shared. For this I used Wet n Wild Blackmail as the base then used OPI What’s Dune?, OPI Significant Other Color, Orly Space Cadet, Pure Ice Heart Breaker, Pure Ice Busted, NYX Aqua Glitter and topped it all off with Northern Lights Holograpic Top Coat.

Again, I’m trying to get caught up on posting and swatches of collections but please bare with me and if I stop posting for a while again, just know that it’s just because of my move and being completely swamped with life. Thanks for hanging in there with me, guys!

Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac

I wanted this polish for a very long time and then one day I saw a friend of mine at work wearing it and I freaked out. She could tell I really liked it so she gave it to me. Lucky me! I’ve been meaning to wear it and keep getting drawn into wearing other polishes so I figure with the warmer weather around (at least here in So Cal), I should wear a Spring-esque mani. This is Lacy Lilac topped with Bundle Monster flower stamp using a no-named Hot Topic polish on all nails except the accent ring finger I used Orly Fancy Fuchsia. I quite like it! =]

A Very Merry Un-Birthday

9 July 2012 by , 15 Comments

So today is my birthday and this is my birthday mani. It’s Orly Shine as the base with the gradient design done with OPI Mas As A Hatter, Island Girl Aloha Surf and Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday.

And as a side note, my best friend got my the absolute coolest gift ever. She gave me a jar (a Goober jar haha) filled with sea glass picked off the sandy beaches of Okinawa. I. am. obsessed. with. sea glass. Like no joke. And I cried when she gave it to me. Cool story huh?

Stay Beautiful.

Orly Cotton Candy

Orly Cotton Candy. A light pink creme that’s much warmer than the typical cool toned cotton candy color that comes to mind. I much prefer warm toned light pinks to the latter though. Cool toned light pinks just look so… dead.. on me.

In the mood for another song? Kay cool. My best friend and I got a cat last night and it took us a while to come up with a name until we landed on Delilah… named after one our our very favorite songs: Hey There Delilah by the Plain White T’s

Meet Delilah:

Orly Fancy Fuchsia & OPI I Lily Love You

28 June 2012 by , 14 Comments

First things first. As you may have noticed, the blog has been on hiatus the past two weeks. I apologize about that. As you may have also noticed, it was shut down because of a Malware warning. I am sorry about that as well. Mostly sorry to those of you who are also bloggers and your blogs were affected by mine. Now, I’ve had this happen before about 6 months ago when my entire laptop was hacked and it ruined everything on my computer including things in which my passwords and information were saved through my web browser: ie my blog since my password was saved and my credit cards because my account information was saved (the latter sucked even worse). In that situation, I knew exactly why the blog became infected and because of that virus, that laptop was so shot to hell that I bought a replacement laptop and the old one has been shoved beneath my bed, never to see the light of day again. This time around, I had not a clue as to why the blog got infected. I still have no clue. I feel like this thing keeps coming back to haunt me. Must be some sort of punishment for not eating my vegetable as a kid. And since I didn’t know how or where I got the virus and where exactly it was infecting my blog, it was really hard to fix. And it must be noted that I’m without a doubt completely shitty at all things html and the technicalities behind running a blog. For this reason my older, computer savvy brother helps out a lot with the behind the scene work. Unfortunately, he was also unable to figure out what was going on and how to fix this. And so now, the virus is fixed and will hopefully never show it’s ugly face around here again. My hope is that none of you are still being affected by the virus and if you are, please let me know. But please, do it in a nice way. I appreciate those of you who sent me kind letter and emails about the issue. And to the ones who sent me hate and rant mail about how I’m destroying everything for everyone else, go fuck yourself. It’s not like I did this on purpose. I understand it was a headache for everyone affected but it all weighed down on my shoulders, affecting me the most. So again, I’m so sorry and hopefully this issue will never have to be dealt with again.

And on to the real post. This is Orly Fancy Fuchsia topped with two layers of OPI I Lily Love You on the ring finger as an accent. Even after two weeks of not posting, I still find myself in a bit of a rut with what to wear so I’m back to trying to wear my old polishes in a new way with layering polishes and nail art. If you have any suggestions, feel free to share. =]

April Showers Bring May Flowers

3 May 2012 by , 131 Comments

For this mani, I was inspired by cherry blossom trees that I saw at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens the on my recent trip to New York City. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see the trees up close like I wanted to, I was merely driving by. But they were on my list of things to see in New York, and see I did. From about 50 feet away. For this reason, I didn’t get any good pictures of how gorgeous the trees were buuuuuuuuut, the lovely Amy over at Gotham Polish recently posted the most gorgeous photos that she took of the cherry blossom trees from her recent visit to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens a few weeks back. Have a lookie loo here to see the beautiful flowers (captured by Amy) that inspired my mani. (And if you don’t follow Amy yet, poor you. You’re sorely missing out.) For this mani I used three coats of OPI Bubble Bath as the base, Konad plate m73, Orly Cotton Candy for the stamping on all nails except the ring fingers, and China Glaze Heli-Yum for the stamping on the ring fingers as an accent nail.

Spring is in the air!
