OPI Spring 2012 Holland Collection: Part 1
Every so often, OPI releases a collection in which the collection theme is based upon a country or city… this Spring said theme is Holland! Wooo!! Que the cute, overly cheesy theme names!

Pedal faster Suzi!. Oh God. The name… the name!!! This name is so OPI haha! First off, the double meaning word.. pedal like pedaling a bike.. pedal faster Suzi…. and the polish is the color of a flower.. like a petal. I’m sure you didn’t need me to spell that out for you but ya’know..I can’t help myself. And then Suzi also decided to add her name into the polish name… which she does quite often. Oh Suzi, you’re so silly. And of course, in true OPI style, the polish name ends with an “!” ! The only thing that could make this polish name more OPI is if “OPI” were actually in the name. Anyways… on to the polish itself. It’s a light pink creme with lots of silver shimmer in it. It’s quite sheer; this is three coats.

Gouda Gouda Two Shoes. Finally, a polish named after cheese! It reminds me of this…Oh, that movie is awesome. Anyways, Gouda Gouda Two Shoes is an odd color. And I’m not really sure what color it actually is. It’s a rosey brown tinged orange. Maybe? And it’s filled with golden and orange shimmer. This was two coats.

A Roll In The Hague. I had to actually Wikipedia what Hauge is since this name confused me a bit. Turns out Hague is the capital city of South Holland. This polish is a bright orange creme. Not too yellow, not to red… just perfect… and true orange. This was two coats.

Red Lights Ahead… Where? is a pink toned creme. Outdoors in the light it looks more red and indoors it looks more pink. This was two coats.

Kiss Me With Your Tulips. My favorite polish name for this half of the collection, but probably my least favorite polish. It’s a medium hot pink creme. It’s nice, but nothing unique. This was three coats.

Dutch’Ya Just Love OPI?. There’s the missing “OPI” that Pedal Faster Suzi! was missing! Oh man. Typical OPI. This polish is awesome though so I’m gonna let the quirky name slide. Dutch’Ya Just Love OPI? is a medium purple creme golden rose shimmer. It reminds me a lot of Sephora By OPI Hell To The No. This is my favorite polish out of this half of the collection. This was two coats.

Sephora By OPI Mermaid To Order

Hi everyone! I’m back from my birthday vacation and needed and extra day of recovery yesterday which is why I didn’t get the chance to post. But I’m back now and today I’m sharing with you one of my favorite turquoises! Sephora by OPI Mermaid To Order is one of the best turquoises ev-uh!! Why, you ask? Because it’s got so many of my favorite things all rolled into one! First off, it’s turquoise. But not only that.. it’s also a duochrome turquoise! It shifts to a blue-teal outside in sunlight but in indirect light it shines vibrant green. On top of that, in the sunlight you can see the very fine glitter in the polish shimmer and sparkle. creating an effect that reminds me of the sunlight sparkling on ocean! Sooo pretty!! The finish itself is metallic and a bit frosty so brush strokes are likely show. However in my opinion, it just adds to the ocean-like effect. :0)

Glee Live!

Happy Hump Day, everyone! I’m back home from my amazing long holiday weekend vacay. This past Saturday I went to the Glee Live! concert at the Staples Center with my aunt and uncle and it was uh-mayy-ziiiiiiingg! My aunt and I both wore Glee polish from the $OPI collection for the show.. I wore Who Let The Dorks Out? and she wore Gleek Out! (you know you have a pretty cool aunt if she’s willing to step out of the nail polish box away from pinks and reds and wear a sparkly lime green!!!). Below is a picture of our nails at the concert and above is my day-after mani of $OPI Who Let The Dorks Out? topped with $OPI Celibacy Club. I love the combo of these two together!

Sephora By OPI Express Yourself To Yourself

Only two episodes left!!! All the non-Glee fans out there are probably sick of me doing Glee Tuesdays on the blog, but I like them :0). Sadly, this is the last of the Glee polishes I have to show you. I didn’t get $OPI Mash-Up or Diva In Training so Express Yourself To Yourself is the last of the Glee polishes I’ll review. First off, are you a bit confused by the odd name? I was too. Kind of a weird name for a polish. And I didn’t get the Glee connection. But a couple weeks back I was watching the episode where Neil Patrick Harris guest stars and Mr.Shue is trying to convince him not to cut the Glee club. Anyways, Mr.Shue explains the importance of the Glee club by saying that it’s not only about expressing yourself to others (through song), it’s about expressing yourself to yourself. Aha! Makes sense. Enough blabbing about the name and on to the review.
First off, you have to click these pictures to view them full size. I kid you not, this is one of the most gorgeous polishes. Ever. Sephora By OPI Express Yourself To Yourself is a bright orange-coral jelly jam packed with duochrome glass fleck shimmer that shines a bright juicy orange when you look at it straight on and an iridescent bright pink-coral when you look at it from an angle. Why is this polish only available in the mini set and not sold in full size!?! It’s so gorgeous!! I can’t get over how pretty and summery it is. I love all the colors that came in the mini set, but even if I didn’t, it would be worth buying the mini set just for this polish alone. Seriously. So gorgeous. Oh, and with Wet N Wild Black Creme I Konaded the piano keys/music notes image using plate m-73. I’ve been wanting to use this image for sop long but for some reason I keep forgetting to do it and today it seemed perfect for my Glee mani. :0)
Happy Tuesday!!

Sephora By OPI Gleek Out

Happy Tuesday, everybody!! Tuesday are my favorite day of the weekday day. As you know, I’m a total Glee fan and I’ve been having fun wearing my $OPI Glee polishes on Tuesdays. This is Sephora By OPI Gleek Out. It’s a gorgeous lime-swamp green jelly jam-packed with yellow-green reflective shimmer glitter particles. The bright yellow-lime green fleck shimmer in this is sooo pretty! The formula of the polish is a bit thin so this took three coats for full coverage. I don’t even particularly like green polish, but I like this one.
Oh, and I got an email from my grandma yesterday saying she had gone to the salon and gotten a pedicure with pink polish and “silver crack on top”. How is it that my grandma has gotten a hold of OPI Silver Shatter and gets to wear it before me!? I still can’t even find that darn polish in stores!! If you have a heads up to where OPI has been stashing it, please, let me know. :0)

Sephora By OPI Celibacy Club

OoOo0ooOo0… Sparkly!! Today I’m sharing with you Sephora By OPI Celibacy Club from the Spring 2011 Glee collection. This is another mini set exclusive. Celibacy Club is a clear base with medium, somewhat chunky holo glitter. I know, there’s so many holo glitter top coats out there and this is just another one.. but this one is different!! Unlike China Glaze Fairy Dust which has tiny round holo glitter, Celibacy Club’s holo glitter is much bigger, much chunkier, and although it’s hard to tell I think it’s square as well. Celibacy Club’s glitter is pretty opaque too, shown here with just one coat. I really like Celibacy Club.. it’s the holo top coat that i love but.. different. And look how much it sparkles!!!!

Sephora By OPI Sue vs. Shue

Happy hump day! Some sad news to report today.. my digital camera has officially died. It started giving me problems a few months back and this morning it kept turning off a couple of seconds after I would turn it on, until it just wouldn’t turn on anymore at all. I guess it was to be expected considering I bought the camera circa 2004 at the beginning of my junior year of high school and now I’m about to graduate after my fifth year of college. I loved that old Canon Powershot… it treated me well through the droppings, the beach trips in which sand got stuck in the lens, the one fall in the deep puddle accident… I guess it’s time to lay the old digi cam to rest. Good thing for me I just got a new phone cause this morning I about freaked out when I couldn’t take mani pictures but my new cell phone with an 8 megapixel camera came to the rescue me! rest assured I won’t be permanently using my camera phone to take pics but it sure did come in handy in a pinch. Anyways.. moving on to the polish….
This Sephora by OPI Sue vs. Shue from the Spring 2011 glee collection. This one is a mini exclusive. Sue vs. Shu is a dark navy blue with gorgeous blue shimmer in it. When the sun hits the nail, the polish almost looks lit from within, being bright and shimmery in the center and dark on the outer edges of the nails. I really like this polish a lot because it’s the first navy blue polish I own that actually looks navy blue on the nail rather than black. So many navy blue polishes look navy in the bottle and appear black on the nail unless you’re really looking at it up close. Not so with this polish!!! Sue vs. Shue is a real winner!! See all that gorgeous blue shimmer!!? So pretty! I’m really loving this Glee collection and honestly, I totally had a blast painting my nails with Glee polish while watching the show on TV last night. I’m a nerd.. what can I say? :0)
