So I’ve pretty much sucked this year at doing Halloween manis. Sorry about that. I’ve been super busy and have barely even had time to do my nails every few days. This is one of the few I’ve done though. It’s Color Club Total Mystery, a dark, bright purple tinged blue duochrome shimmer that changes from blue to purple to pink, topped with spider and web images from the Bundle Monster plate BM13 using Pure Ice Silver Mercedes.
On my recent trip to London I made sure to hunt down every Boots and Superdrug in central London (not to be confused with the City of London or the city named London) to find me some Barry M polishes. Lucky for me, Superdrug was having a sale on Barry M, 3 for £10, so I decided to pick up a few bottles(and then some), including Black Multi Glitter. Black Multi Glitter is a black jelly base filled with small silver holo glitter. In the bottle you can see that the holo glitter is quite apparent however, it doesn’t really show up too well on the nail. If only the black base weren’t so dark I think this polish would have better presentation. Shown here is thee coats. I’m thinking that possibly wearing one coat over a solid creme like Wet n Wild Black creme would help the glitter to show through more. Or even lightly swiping acetone over the top to take off a bit of the black base so that the glitter can better shine through. I like this polish but I’m slightly disappointed it didn’t live up to my super-holographic expectations. But in life, when disappointing polishes come along you must find a way to make them better… so I added a stamped image and more holo glitter on top….
It’s a nice feeling when you love something, forget about it, and then rediscover it again and remember how much you loved it in the first place. That’s nail stamping for me. I can’t remember how long I went without touching it and now that I’ve rediscovered my love for it, I can;t get enough. This is three coats of Essie Marshmallow topped with two coats of Essie Tennis Corset and Konad plate m73 flowers in Pure Ice Silver Mercedes.
It’s not too often that I come across an awesome polish that only costs $2 and when I do, it’s definitely not worthy. Pure Ice Silver Mercedes is definitely one of those polishes. I think I’ve said before that one coater chrome polishes are my go-to polishes when I’m in a rush an need a quick mani that doesn’t require a base coat, a top coat and a dry to the touch within two minutes. Well, this is one of those polishes. It’s a light silver chrome with a tiny bit of foil-like silver sparkles. It reminds me a lot of my go-to quick mani polish, China Glaze Millennium, only Silver Mercedes one upped Millennium in my book because it has the slight foil and shimmer look to it which makes me like it more. I think this has officially become my new go-to quick mani polish. And it’s two bucks! Can you believe that?! Maybe the awesomeness of this polish is worth the hassle of dealing with the crazies at your local Wal*

Since Valentine’s Day is only two day away and I don’t feel like I’ve really worn and holidayesque manis thus far, I figured I would wear a pink polish today. For some reason I was under the impression that Essie Peach Daquiri was a bit more pink and a tad less… peach. I’m just going to blame it on this morning’s gloomy weather. Peach Daquiri is a vibrant peach-pink creme. It’s definitely a shade of pink, just not really in the range of pink hues you think of when you think of Valentine’s Day. Lucky for me, the sun came out a few hours later and I had the chance to capture the polish in better lighting, and with some Valentine-ish nail art on top. :0)
For the nail art I used China Glaze Millennium to stamp on Bundle Monster flower nail designs and added OPI Pixie In Pink on top to add some sparkle and make it look a bit more pink. It’s not your typical Valentine’s Day nail art but I figure… close enough. I like it.
The second and only other polish I picked up from the newly released Finger Paints flakie collection. This is Motley. It’s a clear base filled with blue and green-aqua flakies. I really like the look of this one a lot. It reminds me of the ocean. This is two coats layered over Wet n Wild Black Creme but I’m thinking it would look really awesome and have even more of an ocean look when layered over blues and turquoises. These two flakies are my first Finger Paints polishes ever and I am beyond impressed. I hope they continue to come out with super awesome and unique polishes cause if so, I’m hoppin on the FP bus!
Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all a fun and safe time partying last night and ringing in 2012. Hopefully this will be a prosperous year for us all. To ring in the new year, I decided to do a fun mani.. especially to make up for my incredibly crappy Christmas mani of two day old Meet Me Under The Mistletoe with chips and tip wear. I started off using two coats of Professional 10 Pinky Promise for the base and then used China Glaze 5 Golden Rings at the tips (unevenly) and added China Glaze Medallion on top in gradient fashion. I then used a snowflake images from one BM plate and one Konad plate (I forgot the names, forgive me) and China Glaze Millennium and added on rhinestones to finish it off. It looks softer, sparklier, and more delicate in real life. Pictures really just don’t it justice.
Hope you all had a nice relaxing day today celebrating the new year.
