I wanted this polish for a very long time and then one day I saw a friend of mine at work wearing it and I freaked out. She could tell I really liked it so she gave it to me. Lucky me! I’ve been meaning to wear it and keep getting drawn into wearing other polishes so I figure with the warmer weather around (at least here in So Cal), I should wear a Spring-esque mani. This is Lacy Lilac topped with Bundle Monster flower stamp using a no-named Hot Topic polish on all nails except the accent ring finger I used Orly Fancy Fuchsia. I quite like it! =]
Hey guys! Sorry I haven’t posted in over a week. I started my new job this past Monday, a week ago, and I’ve been super swamped and exhausted because of it. I literally keep wearing manis for 4 days until they become so chipped and embarrassing that I force myself to redo my nails. Please, please bare with me during this super busy and stressful time… especially with the holidays coming up… I really will try to do my best to do as many holiday themed manis and as many posts as I possibly can. But if you do see that I’ve been absent for a while, please just know it’s cause I’m super busy with my new job, preparing for the holidays, as well as family and friends in town and I’m just exhausted. Anyways… enough of the rambling. This is Sally Hansen Amber Rose. It’s a maroon-burgundy shimmer with mustard yellow-orange and blue (at very extreme angles) duochrome. I stamped BM leaves from plate BM-19 using Wet n Wild Black Creme to make the mani more fall-esque. I quite like the turnout. I wore this the last few days of November but now since it’s December, expect only Christmas manis from me from now on through Christmas Day!
So I’ve pretty much sucked this year at doing Halloween manis. Sorry about that. I’ve been super busy and have barely even had time to do my nails every few days. This is one of the few I’ve done though. It’s Color Club Total Mystery, a dark, bright purple tinged blue duochrome shimmer that changes from blue to purple to pink, topped with spider and web images from the Bundle Monster plate BM13 using Pure Ice Silver Mercedes.
I know I’ve posted on the polish before but it’s one of my all time favorite polishes for autumn. It’s pumpkin-y orange, shimmery and just screams fall. Plus it has perfect formula and application. This is three coats. Though you may be able to get away with just two and have enough coverage if they were thicker coats.
I also used LA Girls Copper for my first Halloween mani of the season. I realize it’s already the 20th of October so maybe I should have started the Halloween manis a few weeks earlier but better late than never, I always say. Thi is Wet n Wild Spoiled Cougar attack (three coats for full coverage) with accent fingers in LA Girls Copper. I used the haunted house and bats Bundle Monster for nail art.
I guess I better try to do Halloween manis daily from this point on since I got such a late start in the game.
On my recent trip to London I made sure to hunt down every Boots and Superdrug in central London (not to be confused with the City of London or the city named London) to find me some Barry M polishes. Lucky for me, Superdrug was having a sale on Barry M, 3 for £10, so I decided to pick up a few bottles(and then some), including Black Multi Glitter. Black Multi Glitter is a black jelly base filled with small silver holo glitter. In the bottle you can see that the holo glitter is quite apparent however, it doesn’t really show up too well on the nail. If only the black base weren’t so dark I think this polish would have better presentation. Shown here is thee coats. I’m thinking that possibly wearing one coat over a solid creme like Wet n Wild Black creme would help the glitter to show through more. Or even lightly swiping acetone over the top to take off a bit of the black base so that the glitter can better shine through. I like this polish but I’m slightly disappointed it didn’t live up to my super-holographic expectations. But in life, when disappointing polishes come along you must find a way to make them better… so I added a stamped image and more holo glitter on top….
Since Valentine’s Day is only two day away and I don’t feel like I’ve really worn and holidayesque manis thus far, I figured I would wear a pink polish today. For some reason I was under the impression that Essie Peach Daquiri was a bit more pink and a tad less… peach. I’m just going to blame it on this morning’s gloomy weather. Peach Daquiri is a vibrant peach-pink creme. It’s definitely a shade of pink, just not really in the range of pink hues you think of when you think of Valentine’s Day. Lucky for me, the sun came out a few hours later and I had the chance to capture the polish in better lighting, and with some Valentine-ish nail art on top. :0)
For the nail art I used China Glaze Millennium to stamp on Bundle Monster flower nail designs and added OPI Pixie In Pink on top to add some sparkle and make it look a bit more pink. It’s not your typical Valentine’s Day nail art but I figure… close enough. I like it.
