This fall Nicole by OPI is releasing a collection of five brand new polishes, sold exclusively at Target. Let’s have a lookie loo shall we?
Mer-made For Each Other. A sparkly green-gold-turquoise-blue duochrome foil-y metallic. Originally, from the looks of the bottle, I thought this would be another Peridot dupe but it’s not. It’s the same idea and close in color, but not a dupe. This is probably my favorite of the collection despite the fact that we’ve seen a lot of these types of polishes lately and it’s not really so original anymore. This was three coats.
Just Busta Mauve. This color is interesting to say the least. I want to say that I like how it looks on me but I’m not really so sure that I think I can pull it off. Maybe it clashes with my skin tone too much? Meh. Anyways, It’s a red-brown tinted clear base filled with bronze, rose gold, copper, blue and purple fleck glitter. It’s a bit on the sheer side. As you can see, there’s VNL even after three coats. Despite that, this is a really pretty polish and it’s totally unique… I can’t think of any other polish that looks even remotely similar to this.
For The Gold Times Sake. A green tinged silver-gunmetal grey version of Just Busta Mauve. It’s filled with dark silver, olive, rose gold, gold and blue fleck glitter. Like Busta Move, this is also still somewhat sheer and shows VNL at three coats. I’m a huge fan of dark silver/gunmetal polishes and this one if pretty unique from the rest of my collection.
Iris My Case. A purple-brown base filled with lavender shimmer. I feel like we’ve seen this polish before, though off the top of my head I can’t figure out for the life of me which polish the reminds me of. I wanna say it’s an old school China glaze though. One that I don’t own so I guess it really doesn’t matter if it has a dupe of not. This was three coats.
If The Blue Fits…. A dark navy blue base filled with duochrome fleck glitter that shifts from bright blue to purple to green. In the bottle you can see that there’s even a bit of yellow and red duochrome that show up but it’s not at all visible on the nail. I really like this one a lot. This is three coats.
These polishes are now available at exclusively at Target.

This summer OPI is releasing a Spider-Man themed collection to coincide with the release of a brand new Spider-Man movie. I’m not a huge Spider-Man fan but the nail polish-comic connection kind of thrills me so I was really looking forward to this collection. Let’s have a looksy, shall we?
Your Web Or Mine?. A frosty-ish mauve medium pink. It’s not so frosty that it’s an ugly frost polish… but it’s still clearly frosty. It’s subtle enough though that I still like it because of the color. This is two coats.
Into The Night. A deep metallic blue that is super shimmery and foil like in the sunlight. It lights up with dark midnight blue and silver sparkles with the sun hits it. It really is much prettier than I expected it to be. It is pretty sheer though for such a dark polish. This is three coats.
Number One Nemesis. A dark gunmetal grey polish that is slightly green tinted and filled with tons and tons of glass fleck like shimmer in gold, green and silver that sparkles rainbow colors in the sunlight. This is a very close runner up for being my favorite of the collection. I really, really love this polish. Like a lot, a lot. I had no idea I would love it so much. It may have even taken the top spot from OPI Brand New Skates as my all time favorite gunmetal silver polish. This is three coats but I probably could have gotten away just fine with two.
Just Spotted The Lizard. OMFG. OMFG. ARE YOU SEEING THIS!!!? Holy juhybdendfjkhbnef!!! Um… yeah. I’m freaking out. Like, seriously I’m having extreme issues right now. I can’t even function. This polish is so amazing. Like, I can’t even. omg. Anyways. I Just Spotted The Lizard is an antique gold-green-blue-teal metallic duochrome polish. Apparently it’s a dupe for Chanel Peridot which I almost spent $30 on when it came out but now I’m thankful that I didn’t. This is officially my new favorite gold polish and is definitely in my top five favorite polish of all time. Seriously, run, don’t walk to your nearest nail supply store to get this. You need like, seven bottles of it okay. No joke. Alright, I’m being such a spaz…I just can’t control my feelings right now. This is three coats.
This polish comes out in May and retails for $8.50 a bottle.

After having worn and loved light pink holo glitter polishes OPI Teenage Dream and Pure Ice Spitfire, I thought I would try the very similar looking Sally Hansen Strobe Light. Unfortunately, Strobe Light was a huge let down and definitely my least favorite of the three similar polishes. Spitfire was the more dense (two coats) and the more silvery of the three, Teenage Dream only needed three coats and was the light pinkest of the tree, and Strobe Light is shown here with four coats, I still clearly have VNL, it took forever to dry, and the pink in this is more of a dusty rose-mauve pink. I think Strobe Light would work amazingly as a topper layered over another polish but alone, it’s just not cutting it for me.
I’ve had this sitting on top of my dresser for weeks but I keep forgetting to wear it. This is Orly Ingenue from the upcoming 2011 Holiday Soiree Collection. Ingenue has a pink-plum-mauve base that is loaded with gold glass-fleck glitter flakes. Usually I really don’t like polishes like this at all but I quite like this one. It’s definitely not your typical holiday color but the blingy gold glitter makes it work. It reminds me a lot of OPI Rally Pretty Pink which came out earlier this summer, Orly Rockin’ Rocket that came out in last year’s holiday collection, and Orly Oui which is also included in the Holiday Soiree Collection (none of which I have to compare to, but based off of swatch pictures). If you’re a fan of polishes like these, I think you’ll really like this one!
I cannot tell you how long I’ve searched for the OPI British Collection. Mostly I just wanted Double Decker Red but I’m a sucker for themes and cute names and since I’m British the British Collection tickles my fancy. While shopping in downtown a few weekends ago I found a few polishes from the collection, Blushingham Palace being one of them. OPI Blushingham Palace is mauve-ish pink rose shimmer with the slightest amber-gold pink duochrchrome. The shimmer in this is a really pretty rich rose color. It’s a subtle shimmer but if you look closely you can see the rich pink shimmer shine through. I love this color so much. And the name… it’s just so cute! Some may consider Blushingham Palace a bit of a bore and more of a mom color, and it is (which is probably why my mom chose this as the color she wanted me to give her a pedi with for Mother’s Day) but it’s not too boring for me. It’s subtle yet pretty. :0)
