Barry M Mint Green

So I’ve finally gotten around to wearing this nail polish. Barry M Mint Green is a polish that I’ve been wanting ever since I knew it existed. During the first year or two of my love of polish I actually hated creme nail polishes. Until Essie Mint Candy Apple was released, that is. And that begun my huge love affair with mint green creme polishes. Then about a year ago when I knew I was going to be going to England for the Olympics, I knew I had to hunt me down a bottle of Barry M Mint Green. Lucky me, I found it and bought it and for whatever crazy reason it’s taken me almost 5 months of being home from across the pond to actually get around to wear it. Let me just say, it did not disappoint. It’s a mint green polish lovers fantasy. My only gripe is that it took three coats rather than two to be opaque but I really can’t complain. I love, love, love this polish.

China Glaze Pink Plumeria & Maybelline Minty

My friend wore this mani the other day and I liked it so much that I did it on myself. This is China Glaze Pink Plumeria with accent ring finger nails in Maybelline Minty. I had actually never even heard of Pink Plumeria before I asked her when she was wearing… and she was nice enough to let me borrow it to copy her cite mani idea. I’ve never worn such dramatic and contrasting colors for an accent nail but I really like the green and pink together. It reminds me of summer and since the sun has finally rolled around… it’s the perfect bright mani for the perfect bright and warm weather.

Milani Dress Maker

Milani Dress Maker. Remember when everyone went 10 sorts of crazy over this polish when it was first released? Those were fun days. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a bottle before they were extinct from shelves for the rest of forever. Supposedly a dupe for Chanel Jade (though I can’t vouch for this myself since I don’t own Jade), Dress Maker is a jade-mint green with subtle mint green shimmer. This was three coats. I own about 12 or 13 mint greens but this is definitely one of my favorites. And now that I’m thinking about it, I think it’s the only mint green I own that has shimmer in it… I believe the rest of them are all cremes, making this polish really unique.

Essie Mint Candy Apple

Today’s mani is a spin-off of yesterday’s mani. This is Essie Mint Candy Apple stamped with the Bundle Monster leaves image using plate BM-19, OPI Mermaid’s Tears for all the nails except for the ring fingers in which I used China Glaze Four Leaf Clover to stamp with as an accent nail. The accent nail isn’t as obvious as I had hoped it would be unfortunately but it’s okay cause I still like the way it turned out. I’ve been ignoring my Konad plates (and nail art in general) for a few months now it seems and I feel like I need to get back into using it. I’ve been kind of in a nail rut lately and not knowing what to wear. I’m thinking about doing a 30-day nail polish/art challenge to get some inspiration. If you know of one and want to share with me, please do!

O Cupcake, Where Art Thou?

I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been completely uninspired lately when it comes to nail art. I was trying to do some cute Valentine’s Day manis for you guys before the holiday was over but for one, I’ve been completely drained the last few weeks and two, I don’t even like Valentine’s Day. I hardly liked it even when I did have a boyfriend. So please forgive me for the lack of holiday manis. My creativity for manis and nail art is in the gutter right now so I figured I would be boring and do cupcakes since I haven’t done them in quite some time. I’m pretty sick of cupcakes actually but I figure they’re holiday-esque and most of my readers like them (I assume based on feedback) so I went ahead and did them anyways. If you have questions about what I used to create design please feel free to ask and if you have any suggestions as to Valentine’s Day manis you’d like to see, make a comment and I’ll try my best.

OPI Mermaid’s Tears

It took me forever to finally get my hands on this puppy! I searched and searched and everywhere I went, it was the only polish from the collection that was always sold out. Well, I finally got it! OPI Mermaid’s Tears from the Spring 2011 Pirates of The Caribbean: Stranger Tides collection is a dusty green-turquoise. I knew this would be somewhat similar to the many mint greens I own but the muted quality makes this polish stand on it’s own… I own nothing else like it. It’s truly a gorgeous color and I’m so glad I finally got my hands on it!!!
