Nicole by OPI Winter 2013 Selena Gomez Collection Part 2
Hey guys! I know I promised to have this second half posted two days ago… sorry about that. But I have them now! Behold the second half of NOPI’s Selena Gomez collection.

Love Song. A really pretty pastel yet bright lilac purple. There’s some very subtle hidden shimmer in this polishes but it’s pretty much impossible to see in real life so I’m gonna go ahead and consider this a creme. Very, very pretty and perfect for spring. I also own nothing similar in my collection which is nice to have such a unique shade of purple. Perfect formula and three coats for full coverage.

Naturally. A bubble gum pink creme with ever so subtle silver shimmer. It’s so hard to tell that there’s shimmer there in real life and in pictures so like Selena and Love Song, despite the fact that it’s technically a shimmer, I consider it a creme for all intensive purposes. This was three coats.

Spring Break. A medium toned hot pink creme. Not too original or unique but it’s nice and has nice formula. This is two coats.

Pretty In Plum. A really red toned purple shimmer. This just isn’t my color. It’s nice but there’s really nothing very exciting about it. It leaves me feeling really meeeeeeh. I feel like Selena could have done way better with this one. Nice application and two coats for full coverage.

Inner Sparkle. A clear base filled with large and medium sized light metallic pink hex glitter and small light gold hex glitter. This was three coats and clearly there’s still plenty of nail showing through so I think this would be best used as a top coat.

Sweet Dreams. A clear base filled with large silver hex, medium blue-turquoise hex and small light purple hex glitter. Again this is three coats so I think it would look much better used as a top coat; over a sparkly silver or dark blue maybe.

Confetti Fun. My favorite of the collection. It reminds me a lot of Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday, Milani Gems, and OPI Rainbow Connection but Confetti Fun is not a dupe for any of those. It has multi colored large and medium hex glitter but unlike any other those other rainbow glitter polishes, Confetti Fun is also packed full of tiny multi colored square glitter. The small glitter really adds a lot to this polish and makes it really unique. Plus, this polish is pretty dense so it can be worn all by itself without layering over an opaque polish. I’m wearing it here at three coats and even though you can see VNL in the pictures, it’s not obvious in real life.
These polishes are available now and retail for $7.99 a bottle

OPI Holiday 2012 Skyfall Collection
Right now I’m pretty embarrassed to mention that I’ve had this collection swatched for a month now. A month exactly. I know cause I just checked the date the images were uploaded to my computer. The 17th of October. It is now the 17th of November. I’m terrible, I know. So without further adieu, here are the swatches from the OPI Holiday 2012 Skyfall collection, inspired by the new James Bond film… Skyfall. Bet you didn’t see the one coming.

Moonraker. A light frosty, silver-shifting-gunmetal metallic. It appears very light silver when you look at it head on but around the edges it darkens quite a lot into a medium toned gunmetal silver. It’s a bit frosty and brush stroke-y so you have to be careful on application. This is two coats.

Tomorrow Never Dies. A bright royal purple with tiny shimmer particles in blue, and fuchsia. This ones also a bit brush stroke-y. This is two coats.

The Living Daylights. A clear polish sparsely filled with large hex glitter in light gold, teal, silver and peachy-rose gold. This here is two coats and you can see how sparse the glitter is. This is clearly meant to be layered over another polish rather than being worn alone over bare nails.

The World Is Not Enough. A brownish-grey-taupe with rose and gold shimmer. It’s hard to describe this color. It looks more brown/taupe in some lighting and more silver-grey in others but then the gold and rose shimmer in it is heavy and very apparent and shifts the color too… it’s very odd and very unique but I quite like it. I own nothing at all similar to this polish. My only qualm is that it’s on the sheer side. This is three thick coats.

Live And Let Die. A dark blackened forest green creme with gold fleck glitter. I swear this polish is so… weird… or something. It’s like, a creme but the fleck glitter still shows through so much when normally creme polishes hide and cover up all the glitter from showing through. It’s so cool. I really like this polish. This is two coats.

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. A smokey silver jam packed with fleck glitter in gold, blue, light silver and green. It’s like a darker, more silvery version of The World Is Not Enough… same idea. This one is also on the sheer side so it requires three coats.

The Spy Who Loved Me. A bright cherry/apple red with red fleck glitter. This one is seriously so pretty. It’s way prettier in person, I promise. If you love reds, you need this one. This is two coats. Three may have been better but two was sufficient.

Die Another Day. A metallic tomato red with red and orangey-gold shimmer. This is two coats.

You Only Live Twice. A bright raspberry pink jelly filled with hot pink fleck glitter. Really pretty. This is two coats.

Casino Royale. A warm toned medium plum-purple creme. It’s slightly sheer, especially at the tips so this one looks best with three coats.

Skyfall. A medium brown toned maroon-burgundy creme. Probably my least favorite from the collection. It’s not bad, it’s just kinda boring. This is two coats.

Goldeneye. My hands down favorite from the collection… it’s not hard to see why. Goldeneye is a bright, metallic gold fleck polish. It’s hard to describe. It’s like flecks of golden amazeballs. Yeah, bad description. But seriously, this might just take Dazzled By Gold’s place as my favorite gold polish. Just maybe. You need this. No joke. I mean, I love gold polishes so I’m biased… but still. Even if you don’t like gold polish, you still need this one. You’ll thank me later. You’re welcome.
This collection is available now and retails for $8.50 a bottle. Go get em!!!

China Glaze Fall 2012 On Safari Locals Collection
OMG I keep meaning to post this and… I just keep not posting it. So here’s the first half of the China Glaze Fall 2012 Safari Collection… the Locals set.

Exotic Encounters. A medium teal creme. Not unique or special by any means but it’s nice for fall. This is three coats.

Purr-fect Plum. A medium-dark berry purple creme. Again, nothing too special, but it’s nice for fall. This is three coats.

Elephant Walk. Probably my favorite polish from this set. It’s a green tinged light steel grey with subtle silver shimmer in it. The color of this polish really depends on the lighting. Indoors and in darker lighting this polish really looks like a grey toned grunge army-ish green but outdoors in the sun, it looks completely grey. Odd. This is three coats.

Man Hunt. Interesting name. My least favorite of this set of polishes. Not cause it’s a bad polish… I’m just not really into royal blue and the fact that it’s a creme just makes it really blah for me. However, if royal blue cremes is your thing, this polish is for you. Two coats.

Prey Tell. Is it brown? Is it purple? I’m not so sure. It’s a mix of the two I suppose… a very dark and vampy cream mix of the two. It’s kinda sheer and looks streaky with the first two coats so it really is a three coater.

Jungle Queen. My second favorite of this set, though it’s really not very unique either. It reminds my of Chanel Paradoxal and all the other look-alike dupes. It’s a smokey-dusty grey-hazy-purple with bright iridescent purple shimmer in it. In darker lightings it’s hard to see the shimmer but it’s definitely noticeable in the sunlight. Two coats.
This polish is available now. Sorry again for posting is so late in the game. Better late than never I always say.

H&M Fantasy Ocean

So while I was in Europe I picked up a bottle or two… or ten… of nail polish, and in Spain I was happily surprised to find that their H&M’s still carry polish. Two lines of polish to be exact. And the US stores no longer even carry one line. What a load of bull. Anyways, this is one of the polishes I picked up during my trip on the other side of the pond, in España. Behold Fantasy Ocean. It’s a slightly frosty turquoise-teal filled with tiny gold shimmer. It’s not really unique by any standards but I still like it. And it’s from Spain. And H&M’s there sell polish. And mine doesn’t. And that upsets me.
P.S. If I’m wrong and you live in the US and your H&M sells polish (and I’m not talking about those shitty no-name piece of crap minis) please inform and correct me cause I’ve checked multiples locations in San Diego, LA and New York and no H&M I’ve walked into in any of said cities carry polish. What is going on in the world of H&M??! I’d like to know.

Spoiled by Wet n Wild Deeper Dive

Hey guys! Long time, no post. I’m still pretty sick but since I was gone on vacation all last week I decided I needed to get my ass up and make a post regardless. Today I’m sharing with you a polish from the somewhat new polish line called Spoiled that is mby Wet n Wild. I saw a huge display of these polishes for the first time about 3 months ago at CVS, got really excited and then noticed a lot of them looked like Sinful polish dupes. Oh well I guess. That’s what you get for $2 drug store polish. I did pick up a few Spolied polishes though about a month or so when they went on sale for BOGO50% and this is one of the shades I bought. This is Spoiled Deeper Dive. It’s a bright yet somewhat deep turquoise jelly filled with tons of flake glitter. This polish reminds me a lot of Zoya Charla. I haven’t done a side by side comparison of the two but I think they’re pretty close. Deeper Dive may be a touch bluer (though it does appear more blue in the pictures than it is in rela life). It’s a really pretty polish and perfect for summer. This is two coats.

Nicole by OPI Spring 2012
This Spring Nicole by OPI is releasing four new shades in addition to the three Wal*Mart exclusive polishes I shared with you yesterday. These four polishes will be available at various Nicole by OPI retailers including Target, Wal*Mart, and ULTA. So in case you’ve seen one too many People of Wal*Mart photos and hence refuse to walk in the joint, you can still get your hands on these pretties elsewhere.

Vio-Let’s Talk About Red. A deep red toned pink-berry with pink and violet fleck shimmer. It’s a bot similar to NOPI Best Pink ever but I much prefer this one because the color is deeper, richer and more opaque. This was two coats.

Shoot For The Maroon. A deep plum filled with duochrome micro fleck glitter that shifts from bright fuchsia and purple to antique gold and orange and even a hint of green at the very edges of the nail. This polish is awesome. It’s worth viewing full size. The application was great and I achieved full opaqueness at two coats. And I can’t lie.. I really love the name of the polish. It reminds me of one of my favorite songs called Shooting The Moon by OK:

A Lit-teal But Of Love. A gorgeous royal blue foil with silver and light blue-turquoise shimmer. I really love this polish but I swear that it’s a dupe for Orly Sweet Peacock that came out this past Fall. I guess I’ll have to do a comparison. This was two coats.

A Million Sparkles. Such a fitting name for this polish. It’s a clear base jam packed with medium-small turquoise-blue hex glitter, medium light gold hex glitter, really thin turquoise-blue bar glitter, and thick pink bar glitter. I really love the look of this. It’s so unique and sparkly and I’ve been getting a ton of compliments while wearing this. If there’s one polish you get from these new releases, I would suggest it be this one. There’s seriously nothing out there even comparable to this polish and it’s just so fun and awesome. This was three coats but if you were layering you could use one coat for a sheer layer or two for almost full opaqueness.
These polishes are all available at various Nicole by OPI retailers beginning this month.

OPI Nicki Minaj Collection
This month the OPI Nicki Minaj Collection finally hits shelves! Hip hop hooray! The collection consists of six polishes: three cremes, two glitters, and a shatter. Without further adieu..

Pink Friday. A bright, yet soft bubble gum pink creme. There’s tons of bubble gum pink cremes out there but this one in my opinion is the best. It’s not original by any means, but I like it the best out of the pastel pink cremes I own. This is three coats.

Super Bass Shatter over Pink Friday. Super Bass Shatter is a medium-dark amethyst purple shimmer shatter. I like it but to be honest I’m kinda already over the whole shatter/crackle thing.

Did It On ‘Em. A bright yellow-lime-green creme. It’s so brihgt that it’s almost neon, but not quite. I really like this color a lot and I have nothing else like it in my collection. This was three coats.

Super Bass Shatter over Did It On ‘Em.

Fly. This did not photograph correctly. It’s a few shades darker and more turquoise in real life. It’s not super turquoise… I’d still consider it a blue… but it’s definitely not the Smurf blue it appears to be in these pictures. This was three coats.

Super Bass Shatter over Fly.

Metallic 4 Life. A black jelly loaded with small square and medium & large hex silver glitter. I feel like the whole black base, silver glitter thing has been way overdone, but this one is different. Most black base, silver glitter polishes has one size of glitter and in most cases that glitter is small. This has different sizes of glitter and the glitter is really obvious and in your face, which is not usually the case with the others. This looks to me like a silver version of Deborah Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers. This was two coats.

Super Bass Shatter over Metallic 4 Life.

Save Me. A clear base filled with small silver glitter and silver and blue holo bar glitter. Huge props to OPI for stepping way, way out of the box on this one. This is a first for them with using bar glitter. Most people either love it or hate it… and I love it. I’m not particularly find of this polish.. probably just cause I don’t like the blue and the silver together… but I’m very happy that OPI has really upped their game and given polish lovers more of what we want, and less of the boring pink and red cremes that we used to get from them. This is three coats.

Super Bass Shatter over Save Me.
Overall, I really like this collection. It has Nicki Minaj written all over it.
And oh, I just cant help myself… :0)
