Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Pink Rose Diamond

24 July 2012 by , 3 Comments

The sun is shining and the weather is warm here in So Cal and that to me is the perfect weather to wear holos. Sally Hansen Pink Rose Diamond from the Nail Prisms collection is one of my all time favorite holo polishes. It’s from way back in the day… I think possible 2003 or 4, but don’t quote me on that cause it’s just a guesstimate. It’s a slightly dusty rosey pink filled with small somewhat linear/somewhat scattered holo particles. I have another bottle of this polish and it’s much more of a dusty rose than this bottle so clearly their quality control was slackin a bit back then. Yay for oldies but goodies.

Elizabeth Arden Amsterdam Anise

Elizabeth Arden Amsterdam Anise is a bright copper-gold full of gold, orange and lime green shimmer. I found this about a year ago in a dusty for 2 bucks and snatched it right up. I’m not so sure how old this polish is… I know that Elizabeth Arden used to sell polish in department store and some years ago (how many I am not at all sure) and have since stopped. Too bad too cause I actually really like this polish. Though my guess is that the sale tag at Nordies would have read much more for this polish than it did at he dusty. Winner winner chicken dinner.

On a side note, I was gone all week in New York City…

…hence the lack of posts. And when I wasn’t in New York I was busy ripping my hair out in the DC airport because United Airways completely sucks ass. I don’t even want to begin to explain the torture they put me through but a word of advice, don’t ever fly United. The fun level experience is right on par with having a pap smear done by your boyfriend’s parent or staying in a cock roach infested hotel. Not like I’m speaking from experience… but I’m just saying.

China Glaze Pink Plumeria & Maybelline Minty

15 July 2012 by , 11 Comments

My friend wore this mani the other day and I liked it so much that I did it on myself. This is China Glaze Pink Plumeria with accent ring finger nails in Maybelline Minty. I had actually never even heard of Pink Plumeria before I asked her when she was wearing… and she was nice enough to let me borrow it to copy her cite mani idea. I’ve never worn such dramatic and contrasting colors for an accent nail but I really like the green and pink together. It reminds me of summer and since the sun has finally rolled around… it’s the perfect bright mani for the perfect bright and warm weather.

OPI London Bridge Is Falling Brown

14 July 2012 by , 1 Comment

OPI London Bridge Is Falling Down. I found this polish a while back at a dusty and got really excited. I have a fascination with all things London and this is by far the cutest polish name from the British Collection. It’s a brick reddish brown creme. It’s interesting and definitely unique but it’s not so much my… cup of tea, so to speak. This is one of the few polishes I bought strictly for the name. And since I’m heading off to London town soon (August 2nd to be exact) I figured now was the perfect time to wear it.

Essie Brooch The Subject

13 July 2012 by , No Comments

Essie Brooch The Subject is a slightly darkened and browned BABB (band aid but better) nude creme. I like it but I think it’s slightly too dark and brown for my skin tone and it almost makes me look dead… almost. The weather here in So Cal has sucked the past few days. It’s been in the high 70′s and low 80′s yet grey, dreary and even rainy at times so I haven’t been in the mood to wear bright or sparkly polishes. So until the weather shapes up I guess it’s boring cremes for a while.

On a side note, as you may or may not have noticed, I skipped the Friday Poll for today. I’m kind of over it and by the lack of responses I assume you guys are too… sooooo… idk. I may never do one again. Or I may. I’ not sure. If you have opinion feel free to state it. Otherwise the Friday Poll may be dunzo from here on out. Hip hip cheerio.

A Very Merry Un-Birthday

So today is my birthday and this is my birthday mani. It’s Orly Shine as the base with the gradient design done with OPI Mas As A Hatter, Island Girl Aloha Surf and Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday.

And as a side note, my best friend got my the absolute coolest gift ever. She gave me a jar (a Goober jar haha) filled with sea glass picked off the sandy beaches of Okinawa. I. am. obsessed. with. sea glass. Like no joke. And I cried when she gave it to me. Cool story huh?

Stay Beautiful.

Milani Hi-Tech

So apparently, according to the archive, I’ve posted about this polish three times now. Oh wells! It’s an awesome polish. Today I had the day off work so I went to a pool party and I suit I wore was green so I wore Hi-Tec to match. Plus the sun came out for the first time in days so I took advantage of wearing a holo. Cool story huh?
