Glitter Bomb

30 April 2011 by , 48 Comments

Hey, everyone! Sorry for the late post. This morning I met up with a bunch of girls form the MUA Nail Board downtown in China Town to grab some dim sum for lunch. Since I was meeting with a bunch of nail polish girls I wanted to make sure that my nails looked extra nice today :0). I decided on using China glaze Sexagon as the base and doing a gradient mani using OPI Mad As A Hatter, Island Girl Aloha Heat, and Deborah Lippmann on top. My kind of glitter bomb!!

Have a happy Saturday!

Sinful Innocent

21 April 2011 by , 444 Comments

Tomorrow is Earth Day so today I decided to wear a mani this is.. well, Earthy. This is Sinful Innocent stamped with China Glaze Watermelon Rind using Bundle Monster plate BM19. Sinful Innocent was released last Spring and it is a lime Sherk-esque green creme. I’m usually not a fan of green polish at all, especially these types of greens just because they’re so… odd. But this one works for some reason. Perhaps cause it’s a creme.

Are you guys doing anything fun tomorrow for earth Day? I know there’s some give-aways going on… Lowe’s is giving away free trees tomorrow and Starbucks is giving away free brewed coffee as long as you bring your own travel mug. How cool is that!? I’m definitely taking advantage of Starbucks free coffee! Have you heard of any other cool give-aways tomorrow for Earth Day? If so, let me know! :0)

Sinful Cloud 9

16 April 2011 by , 229 Comments

Last weekend I walked into Wallgreens and saw a huge sign advertising Sinful nail polish 2/$1. At that price, I just knew I had to grab a handful of them!.. there’s not much better than pretty polish for 50 cents! Sinful Cloud 9 was one of the polishes I picked up. It’s a warm and bright orange with really pretty gold shimmer. This polish makes me feel like it’s summer. Today it’s going to be over 85 degrees here in LA so this polish is perfect for this kind of weather!! The application on this was pretty good. this was four coats, I probably could have done three but since I was painting at night I wanted to make sure that the dark lighting wouldn’t be covering up VNL that would clearly be there in the morning with normal lighting.. so I did four coats just to be safe. Even with four coats, there was no dragging or pulling during the application and dry time was decent. I added Konad on top with China Glaze Millennium… I was hoping to use a more golden color for Konad that match the warm gold shimmer in Cloud 9 but I have yet to find a warm opaque gold that stemps well. If you know of one, please let me know :0)

Have an amazing Saturday! I hope it’s gorgeous, hot, and sunny in your neck of the woods too!!

China Glaze Shooting Stars

11 April 2011 by , 128 Comments

I love Maybelline Blue Brilliance so much, I just wouldn’t take it off. So instead I added China Glaze Shooting Stars on top. Shooting Stars is from the 50 glitter Specialty Collection that was released in the Fall of 2009. Shooting Stars is one of my all time favorite polishes from that glitter collection and one of my favorite polishes to layer with.. it looks gorgeous on top of almost anything. Its a clear base with holo glitter, much like China Glaze Fairy Dust, yet in addition it’s got large hex glitter that’s iridescent. The large glitter hex pieces vary in colors of purple, pink, yellow, and green. So, so pretty and i love this layered look!

Happy Sundae!

6 April 2011 by , 279 Comments

So I’m a few days late on posting this but Sunday was the 1anniversary of the ice cream sundae. I’m on a diet so I decided to celebrate with an ice cream sundae on my nails rather than the real thing. The base for this mani was ChG Lemon Fizz and my ice cream sundae is as follows… for the left hand: Strawberry ice cream with whipped cream and strawberry sprinkles, Birthday Cake Batter ice cream with chocolate syrup, Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles, and Java Chip ice cream with chocolate syrup. For the right hand: Pistachio Praline ice cream with whipped cream, Cookies N’ Cream ice cream with chocolate syrup and cookie crumbles on top, Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream with whipped cream and strawberry syrup on top, and Rocky Road ice cream with whipped cream and nuts on top. And no sundae would be complete without a cherry on top so all scoops are topped with a cheery as well! :0)

Did you celebrate Sundae Sunday?

China Glaze Lemon Fizz

It’s warm out today in LA and China Glaze Lemon Fizz seemed like the perfect polish to put on for the sunny weather. ChG Lemon Fizz is from the Spring 2010 Up & Away Collection. It’s a pastel yet vibrant yellow creme. This color of this polish totally reminds me of those baby chicks that are everywhere right now for Easter! So cute!

China Glaze For Audrey

4 April 2011 by , 108 Comments

China Glaze For Audrey. Probably the most iconic China Glaze polish, right alongside Ruby Pumps. For Audrey is a pastel robin’s egg blue/Tiffany & Co. blue creme. Technically speaking it would be called a robin’s egg blue considering Tiffany & Co. has their “Tiffany Blue” color trademarked and by law no one is allowed to reproduce that “Tiffany Blue” color. For Audrey comes pretty damn close though. To the naked eye For Audrey looks just about the same exact color as Tiffany Blue and my guess is that it’s close to 1 shade off, to look exactly the same but keep China Glaze safe for legal reasons. For Audrey is one of my very favorite China Glazes, and nail in general. It was the very first China glaze polish I ever owned and I hold a dear spot in my heart for it. This polish is essential for every nail polish lover to have in their collection. If you don’t own it,  you should.
